Do you ever feel frustrated and overwhelmed about the amount of information regarding health, fitness, nutrition, motivation, and empowerment?


I do, especially since I work in the health field and spend lots of time reading and learning about anything and everything that has to do with health. Like you I find most, if not all, of my information online now, as well as, continue to review the latest books that are published every year. Not to mention following the latest health and fitness industry new expert in the field to make our healthy lifestyle easier. At least this is the aim to make our life choices easier. Although I do feel overwhelmed by the information I also fully support this awakening movement because the world needs healthy and thriving human beings and you are one of them.


Dalai Lama once said: "The planet does not need more successful people. The planet needs more peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers and lover."

The reason there is so much information is because each person is unique. There’s not a one size fits all lifestyle, physical routine or meditation practice. The common theme among the experts is that food is a messenger, food is a healer. With all of this information such as finding cholesterol not to be an enemy, preventing diabetes, importance of emotional health, topics like  superfood, foods that support digestion, toxins in beauty products which affect female hormones, your immunity is in your gut,  good bacteria are your friends, stress is killer, fat around the middle is related to cortisol and so on I know it makes my head spin, and I’m guessing it does yours too.

As a practitioner it’s important to stay aware of updated information so I can find out what works best for each of my clients, such as what will bring the best results and what is scientifically proven. Since 2013 I have been practicing functional medicine nutrition after I graduated with the Diploma in Nutritional Therapy followed by further education with the Institute of Functional Medicine. My background is in sport and application of advance nutrition which became a must at some point due to my career as a personal trainer. Overtime I realised that training as a modality to help lose weight was not enough. It was one aspect, just like nutrition is one aspect of a holistic picture.

I have been working with clients with different chronic health issues: pre diabetes, anxiety, irritable bowel syndrome, celiac, rheumatic arthritis, polycystic ovary syndrome, diabetes, as well as, with people who just generally do not feel well, are tired, low energy, could not shift the weight, experienced some digestive issues and reacting to food they have been eating.

After some time I noticed different situations amongst my clients and became curious.  I began to ask myself "why do some of my clients with the same set of symptoms who comes to me for fat loss get the results and others did not?

At first I thought they may just not be sticking to the program, the food plan at home, but soon moved away from this theory.  

I turned to my experience in functional medicine and the Food and Spirit program by Dr. Deanna Minich. I recalled that we are all unique and respond in different ways and I cannot just apply the same treatment to everyone, if I would like to help my client to get the best results.
